important evidence for your immigration legal case.

Immigration Evaluations

Immigration mental health evaluations for your legal case.

Immigration psychological evaluations can help you tell your story.

Has your attorney suggested getting an immigration mental health evaluation, sometimes called an immigration psychological evaluation? If so, you’re in the right place.

The immigration process can be incredibly difficult and stressful, especially for those fleeing hardship or seeking refuge and a better life. Preparing an immigration case often requires you to relive traumatic experiences and detail intensely personal information to strangers.

On top of that, the outcome is filled with uncertainty. Applicants and their families may wait months or even years for a decision that will profoundly impact their future and safety.

My job is to understand and document your unique struggles. Additionally, I will describe how you have been impacted mentally and emotionally.

Together, we will go through your history, your current life, and your mental health. I will ask questions to understand what you have been through.

I’ll support you in putting words to your experience and emotions.

Do you have one of the following?

A case under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA)

A U-Visa or T-Visa case

An asylum case

An extreme hardship waiver (you are the US citizen family member)

Here’s what we’ll do together

The evidence presented in an immigration evaluation can often be the deciding factor in the case’s outcome.

It can be hard to get judges and immigration officers to believe your story of harm without physical proof. But there are real emotional and mental scars, even if you can't see them.

My job as your evaluator is to carefully document those invisible wounds. I'll describe your current mental health symptoms and explain how they connect to past trauma.

The report I write is very important. It shows solid evidence of what you've been through. It explains why you act or feel certain ways today.

It talks about your credibility and truthfulness.

It can also explain how being apart from loved ones or moving back to your country of origin could harm you mentally.

I'll also talk in the report about things like how separation from parents can impact children, both mentally and emotionally.

My report puts the puzzle pieces together to help strengthen your case.

My goal is to paint a clear picture of your inner struggles for the court.

The immigration evaluation is about your mental health. It is not about immigration law or country conditions. Because of this, a therapist’s input can be very helpful and beneficial for your case.

My job as your evaluator is to record your mental health needs and explain how they relate to your immigration case. I won't comment on things like conditions in your home country — I'll leave that to your attorney.

If possible, I will highlight any unique parts of your story or situation that make your case different than others.

We will have two separate meetings. During those meetings, I will ask you questions about your life and mental health history. I will write down your exact words and experiences. This will help me understand what you have been through so that I can communicate it to the immigration judge or officer.

I may diagnose mental health conditions if it seems relevant. I will make suggestions for your future mental health care and well-being.

The evaluation for the immigration case will be exhaustive and thorough. I will consult with your attorney’s office so that your assessment is as complete as possible.

The immigration system is daunting, but you don’t have to go through it alone.

My evaluation will amplify your voice so that your unique circumstances are heard and understood.
